Hybrid Session
A hybrid earns its slot only if it produces a yardage nothing else produces. So the session starts by measuring the hole, not by handing you a demo.
What Does Your Bag Actually Not Cover?
Hybrids are bought reactively. A golfer struggles with a long iron, buys a hybrid to replace it, and ends up with two clubs that carry within six yards of each other and a genuine hole somewhere else entirely.
The first thirty minutes here are spent establishing real carry numbers for the clubs either side of the gap: your longest comfortable iron and your shortest fairway wood. Comfortable is the operative word. The four iron you can hit beautifully one time in six is not a club that exists in your bag for gapping purposes.
Once we know the width of the hole, the hybrid specification follows straightforwardly. Loft to fill the gap, length to control the strike, and shaft profile matched to what you already swing well rather than a heavier profile chosen for its own sake.
The Errors We See Weekly
Stacked on a wood
A nineteen-degree hybrid bought to replace a three iron, sitting six yards behind a five wood the golfer also carries. Two clubs, one yardage, and a hole below both.
Fitted like an iron
Hybrids are swung more like a wood than an iron by most players, with a shallower angle of attack. Fitting one with iron-length logic produces a club that digs.
Wrong lie entirely
Hybrid lie angle is rarely checked and frequently wrong, which is a large part of why so many golfers report their hybrid going left. It is a two-minute measurement.
Sometimes the Answer Is Not a Hybrid
Two other things fill a long-game gap and both get considered in this session. A driving iron suits players with enough speed and a descending strike who want flight control in wind, which matters on the more exposed Triangle layouts. A high-lofted fairway wood suits players who struggle to get the ball airborne from the turf and who want maximum forgiveness.
Neither is universally better. What decides it is your measured angle of attack and how you actually deliver the club, both of which we capture in the bay before recommending anything.
All four are tested in the session where your numbers make them plausible. We do not pre-select on your behalf.
