Who Is Actually Holding the Gauge

Four of us, all of whom work the bench. Nobody here is purely a salesperson, and nobody is paid a percentage of what you spend.

Delia opened the original repair bench in 2009 after nine years working pro shop counters around Wake County. She still writes most of the iron set certifications herself and personally signs off every spec sheet that leaves the building. Her particular obsession is set gapping — specifically, the way a factory-stated loft progression falls apart the moment one club gets bent and nobody adjusts its neighbours.

She plays to a four handicap with a set of blades she has re-shafted four times and refuses to replace.

Roscoe Bell

Roll Room Director

Roscoe ran a green-keeping crew at two Triangle courses before deciding he was more interested in what happened on top of the surface than underneath it. He built our roll room specification himself, including the decision to keep the stimp at ten and a half rather than the flattering thirteen most demo rooms use.

He handles every putter lab session, and he is the reason this studio talks about toe hang and stroke arc more than anyone else in the county. Ask him about lie angle in putters and set aside twenty minutes.

Amara Osei

Build Bench Lead

Amara came out of a composites background and treats a shaft installation the way an aerospace technician treats a bonded joint: surface prep documented, epoxy weighed, cure time recorded. Every re-shaft and re-weight that leaves the bench has her initials on the build card.

She is also the person who insisted the swingweight scale get a quarterly verification against a reference club, which turned into the calibration schedule the whole bureau now runs on.

Terrence Whitlow

Bay Fitter & Front Desk

Terrence works the hitting bays and is usually the voice on the phone when you call. He came to fitting from teaching — six seasons of junior group instruction — which shows in how he runs a session: a lot of questions about how you actually play, not just what the monitor reports.

He runs the driver and fairway wood sessions and handles the Saturday morning block, which he protects fiercely on behalf of everyone who works weekdays.

How We Are Paid

Salary, Not Commission

Every person above is on a flat wage. None of them earn more if you buy a driver, and none of them earn less if you walk out with the clubs you arrived with, bent back into spec for a hundred and forty dollars.

We publish this because it is the only structural guarantee that matters. Independence is easy to claim in a paragraph and hard to fake in a payroll.

Training

Continuing Bench Education

All four staff attend at least one manufacturer technical school per year, and the studio closes for a full day each spring so the whole bench can re-verify measurement procedure together against the reference set.

Those closure days are announced a month in advance on the contact page.
